Mission Statement

S.U.N.A. is a non-partisan community based organization that works to:

  • Maintain safe attractive neighborhoods which provide a welcoming environment to all residents;
  • Support the renewal of the Philo Road business corridor and development of Orchard Downs in a manner that is sensitive to natural areas and surrounding neighborhoods;
  • Foster a spirit of community and cooperation among residents and businesses of southeast Urbana.

Tuesday, June 9, 2009: Annual SUNA Meeting

SUNA will hold its annual meeting on Tuesday, June 9, 2009, in the gym of Yankee Ridge Elementary School from 7 to 9 pm.

Urbana Economic Development Update

Tom Carrino, Urbana Community Development staff, presented the Economic Development Update to the Urbana City Council on January 9, 2009.

Building Green Schools

The Urbana School District #116 Facilities Planning Committee is sponsoring a presentation by the Green Building Council, Chicago and Champaign Chapters, on “Building Green Schools” on Thursday, January 8 at 6:30 pm in Room 2199, Urbana High School.  Speakers are architects Jean Ascoli and Stuart Brodsky.  The program is open to the public.  Please use Iowa St. entrance.
