SUNA Organizational Structure

SUNA MEMBERSHIP

To become a member of SUNA, one should be:

1. A resident of Southeast Urbana (the geographic area bounded roughly by Florida Ave., Lincoln Ave., Windsor Rd. and Stone Creek Blvd).  Or
2. An elected or appointed civil service employee of the City of Urbana; Or
3. A University of Illinois administrator, faculty or staff member involved in planning, design and construction of projects within the geographic area. Or
4. An owner of a property or business within the geographic area.

Households and individuals in the above categories who pay SUNA annual dues (currently $5) will have voting rights at SUNA meetings.

ORGANIZATION AND PROCEDURE

SUNA Co-coordinators

The coordinator or coordinators are elected at the annual spring meeting. They chair the annual neighborhood meeting and direct the steering committee meetings.

Steering Committee

Membership is open to any SUNA members willing to meet as a member of this committee twice a year to discuss and address issues pertinent to the well-being of the residents of southeast Urbana.

Meetings

An annual neighborhood-wide meeting will be held annually in late Spring, usually June.

The steering committee will meet twice a year, in September and February, or as needed.
